I smoked about 4 times this month, and probably 2 times a month for like 3 months before. I didnt smoke that much, but now i am applying to a volunteer program at a nursing home. Okay so about last thursday I got bitten by to deer ticks in the nymph stage, the first one was on my left ankle and removed on thursday night. Then the second one was found on my left leg and removed friday morning. The camp nurse told me to get checked out and then I came back to the nurse maybe an hour later because I started to become nauseated and was running a fever. Rice to dry out my camera?

I went hiking yesterday and my camera ended up taking a dip in the creek. It wasn't on when it went it (so no electrical current was flowing through it to get fried) and it was only in the water for a few seconds. I immediately removed the battery. On the way home I could see condensation behind the screen. I figured I'd try the rice trick because I've heard it works. I put it in a bag of rice last night and I checked it this morning and the condensation in the screen is gone. I'm afraid to use it now, just in case there may still be some moisture inside. How much longer should I wait before using my camera again?

Can people own creeks in Ohio?

I live out in a pretty rural area of Ohio. Naturally, I like spending a lot of time outdoors, and one of my hobbies happens to be fishing. My house is about two miles down the road from the spillway to Cowan lake, which is where i go fishing. All the water from the spillway flows into a creek, which flows right past my road. After i'm done fishing, I usually just walk through the creek until i get back to my road. I've been doing this for years & never had any problems. Recently, on my way back, a man who lives across the street from the creek came down while i was walking through it & told me to leave because i was on his property. Hi. My husband and I decided to take 6 kids camping with us and 2 of them were mine. The rest were my nieces aged from 6-13. My kids Lizzy age 2 and Maddie age 4 and my nieces Alayna age 6, Nicole age 10, Jaymee age 11 and Britney age 13. I am 28 myself and my husband is 29. We decided since Alayna, Nicole and Jaymee haven't seen Britney since 2009 (Britney moved, but shes moved back into the area) we would take them all camping, BAD IDEA. Well lets start from the begining, we were packing up for 1 weeks trip. All of that food, blankets, pillows, toys etc. We filled up 2 cars with all that stuff (we took 3 total). So we get all packed up and leave. Now Britney has never been camping before. As soon as we got up there Nicole, Jaymee and Britney went to the bathroom and complained about how dirty it was and was recording on the phone saying "the camp store is cleaner than those bathrooms". Then they were talking in hillbilly voices (ANNOYING) and wouldnt shut up while me and my husband were trying to put up our trailer tent. They were singing very loudly with hillbilly voices. Then all the little kids were throwing fits because some couldnt sit by Britney and blah blah blah (They did this alot). Then they argued over who got the tenis racket (we only ahd 3) and the younger kids were screaming and crying because the older kids wouldnt give them turns. Then we let them take a walk on their own before dinner was ready (all together) and who-ever was the "brilliant one" and decided to teach the little kids to knock over port a pottys and chase golfcarts and it was raining too and i went to go look for them and they were going to the place where they tell you what activites there is to do that night (WE TOLD THEM BEFORE WHAT ACTIVITES THERE WAS) and i picked up the little kdis in my car there was no room for the big kids so i made them walk and (stalked them) to make sure they go back to the tent. Then we took them to the park and they were argueing over the teet or tot and my daughter got a splinter and it strated pouring it was horrible, Went back to the tent. Then Nicole wanted to sleep by Britneyy tonight (they stay upo and talk and giggle so NO). She has the biggest fit ever and cried and said "your not the boss of me" and "im not eating " and "my mom made me come on this trip i didnt want to i hate you" and she called her mom and asked to be picked up (Her mom refused to drive because the campsite was 2 1/2 hours away and it was 7pm). So then we ate dinner and they went to the creek now my 2 year old daughter was scared to walk in the water and Jaymee was holding her and asked help from Nicole and Britney but they just left them and went up more in the creek, that irratated me. Then they went to roast marshmellows and burnt everyone of them ON PURPOSE (the older kids im talking about) so it was in the fire. I yelled at them. So theyw ent into the camper. There bed was being help up by 2 steel rods and they jumped ON PURPOSE (they know not too) and one cracked so we yelled at them. Then we went to bed from 9pm-12:30am they were up ALL NIGHT (dont ask why i have NO IDEA they woke me and my husband up, we didnt have any sleeping pills either) shaking the camper, bouncing up and down, making fart noises, whispering, laughing, getting in and out of the camper being OBNOXIOUS (the OLDER kids not the younger ones). Then at 4:30am Nicole was yelling "lets gather around the campfire and sing our campfire song" in a hillbilly voice. I yelled at them to go to bed and this is never happening again and were leaving tomorrow. I turned the TV off at 1:00am so they were doing this in pitch blackness. The little kids were asleep the whole time NOT US. We yelled at them constantly but they didnt care. So the next day we got the lil ones up at 6am and ate breakfast and went golfing (mini golfing) and i dont know why i wasted the 10$ on the older kids cuz they were being smarta$$es and using their hands (video recording it) and going on seperate courses cuz they didnt wanna wait for the lil ones. They said to me in a hillbilly voice "wasnt that a great game of golf arnt we the best golfers" Then we went past a sign that said have a beary good day and theyre like "aunt zoey r u having a beary good day" and saying beary after EVERYTHING they said. We told them to pick up the ground before we left they threw everything in the fire and video recorded it (That made me furious) so I told them to go to the car. They are the most disgustingest people ever. They didnt bring deodarent ON PURPOSE and lifted their arms up (they were sitting there for 45 minutes and doors wer shut) My car windows were foggy and oh my god we had to air out the car i made them leave all the doors open and sprayed them with febreeze for 10 minutes. In TEXAS at age 19 can I go to the range and RENT a PISTOL for target practice?

I am 19 years old in Texas looking to get some target practice using a .22 (for starters) at the range and get experience before I start trying to handle other firearms and 9mm's (which I have handled). I have this friend, we used to work together and we are not as close as we used to be but we still see eachother once or twice a month, she has two boys one is 8 the other is 6 and they have some severe behavior problems. Both of them have had numerous run ins with police and the juvenile system and to be honest my heart breaks for them. Their father was abusive to their mom (physically and emotionally) and last year he became extremely sick and has been slowly dying in a nursing home ever since. Instead of dealing with their questions/grief/behavior shes too busy enjoying her new freedom now that her abusive husband is dying. I was there one day and her 8 yr old son exposed himself to my 4 yr old daughter. She beat him with a broom stick. I have personally heard her tell her children she hates them and wishes they would die and when I confronted her she said "well they say it to me!" She has been known to abuse morphine pills (not in excess) and she wont discipline them. She takes them to a neighbors house and lets the neighbor do it (the neighbor pulls their tongues out with pliers until they are screaming in pain). The scary thing is, she puts up a false front. She has regular visits with a psr worker yet pretends shes this loving mother with unruley kids and she blames them for their outbursts. Should I turn her in to CPS and do you think anything would even come of it seeing as a social worker visits her but sees nothing going on?

80 yr Old Dad in End Stage CHF Lasix slowly working?

Our Dad was admitted to the hospital for the second time in a week yesterday. He had over 32 lbs of water weight. They upped him from 1/2 lasix water pill to 4 last week and sent him home. He ended up in ER yesterday with same 30 lbs water being retained. I spoke with his doctor and they are going to remove as much water as they can and send him home in a day or two. I am his health POA and I asked the Dr where do we go from here? He said day by day, he is going to send him home on oxygen and have some home health aides come in a few times per week. I asked the nurse if she though he could continue living alone until this fall and she told me I'd be fortunate to still have him than? I am scared has anyone gone thru this? Expert please!! Breast pain!! severe!?

Ok so im really freaking out!! i'll start off by saying that im 25 years old and in great health. However I have been noticing the past month or two that my right breast has beed a little soar. I didnt pay any attention to it because i just figured it was all hormonal and nothing to worry about. However within the past week i started to realize that the pain was getting a little worse. Last night i was laying in bed and my husband leand over on me to kiss me goodnight and when he pressed against my right breast a horrible pain shot through my right breast it hurt so bad i screamed!! Then as i was cupping it I felt a lump on the outside next to where my armpit is!! I cant really tell the texture of the lump but it really hurts to touch!! Also I did breastfeed my son @ years ago but i only nursed for 4 months bcause i wasnt producing enough milk. I also noticed that the past couple of months that I had milk coming out still!! Its not alot of milk just a tiny bit! Then today i was thinking that when im running on the treadmill (quite frequently) i put my ipod on and with no pockets i just tuck my ipod in my bra on top of my right breast! Could this have givin me cancer?!! Im really scared!! I know its rare for someone my age to get it but im still freaking out i have no history of breast cancer in my family. Now im having really strange tingling on my nipple and its really making me crazy! I cant even lay on my right side and it burns when i try to even pick up my arm to wash my hair! It even hurts to walk so i have to wear two push up bras just to keep them from moving while i walk! My mom does have issues with cysts in both of her breasts and she has even had biopsys on them which thank god were negative! I have had ovarion cysts before. Honestly, you don't have a good steady flow in your writing. I can't distinguish what your story is about. You're writing about one thong then describing something else. Also, ( idk if it is like this in Canada ) but in the U.S. you go to middle school before high school, and elementary before middle school (aka junior high). A few tips, focus on the message you want to convey in this passage, such as, the purple light. When you start off your story, you don't want the reader to know everything, allow then to ask some questions. Also, you do not need to describe your babysitter so in depth, if she an important character we will discover her personality through her speech and what others think of her. I know more about the babysitterthan I do the point of the story. Also, it's great that you want to tell how you and Annah met, but I frankly don't care about what the teacher thought of Annah's moving around so much. If that is a key component ofthe story, play with it a little, try building up to this flashback more and kind of have your mom and Annah's mom talking about you two and then tell how your character and Annah became friends in a brief way. Since Annah is clearly going to be a main character, you have time to describe her and your relationship in the story. Final tip be more descriptive but not overly descriptive, and give some but not all the information, and last but not least be creative but focus your creativity.

So in a few years (maybe a year if I get my parents to sign up my enlistment) I am going to enlist in the Marine Corps. Back in like 3rd grade I was like diagnosed with ADHD and was put on medicine, had these group sessions, and had my school pressuring my parents to do all this. Eventually, my parents just stopped giving me the crap. Im hyper at times still, but I dont think this will really effect anything.Then in 6th grade the nurse and mom thought I had sports asthma or asthma in general and even had me breathe into something after running to see if I was normal or not. It was NOT an inhaler, merely this test thing that had like a bunch of different colors and numbers and it just tested if I was at normal breathing or not. We stopped that, since the doctor really didnt diagnose me, and never really finished the testing. Bottom line, never diagnosed or had an inhaler. One last thing, I have no full brothers and sisters, I have one half brother and half two half sisters from my dad. I am my moms only kid. I just think I was a bad runner before (still not great) and also I saw a big improvement in 8th grade when I was in wrestling and freshman year I wasnt too bad, but not that great. Now that im not in wrestling, Im to a good runner. But I will work on that. So do I have to tell the recruiter this info. I wanted to really know about the ADHD, can you be a Marine Scout sniper? Hello, I am a father of four beautiful children and married ten years to my wife.My wife lost her her sister due to a battle of cancer she only was diagnosed 8 months ago but sadly she lost the battle and its really made my wife downtrying to cheer her up these days is hard as they grew up together .she left behind a beautiful baby boy who is only a year and a half we found out her sister never decided who would take care of her child after because the death was so sudden .We are from ireland i myself am not irish in from the Netherlands and im dutch .i myself have no problem with taking in the child me and my wife love children and before this happened we were trying for our fifth child for over a year but have found it hard to conceive.I admit we are not perfect but i think we should keep him in the blood.we have good jobs im an accountant my wife's a nurse and i hope that way it will stand good for us so if we decide to we can get custody i think it will be up in court in about 3 to four weeks time im not 100% sure.I've not mentioned it yet with my wife but i am going to after i get advice.The child is with his Grandparents at he moment,his father is not in the picture as he didn't want to get involved when he was born.I think we can cope very well with this child as our oldest is nine down to age four so they too are fit to care and help this child when growing up .What i am wonder is would my nationality stand as im not irish but taking custody of an irish child? would we be too old to adopt im 43 my wife is 32? Could they tell us we have no room as we've a four bedroom house?And also how do we tell them we want to rared this child? i know my wife will want to because she would do anything to have something left with this child.Over all is this a good idea? I have a tradition that I have done ever since 3rd grade, it's where a have this big all girls backyard camp, and all the girls in my grade who go to my school and a couple other girls are coming. Last year (5th grade) nobody would listen to where everything is, and when they were supposed to go to water events, they end up going into the creek or something (my backyard is really big, and my house is small lol, Not small small just not a mansion or anything) because they didn't know where the event was. Why would a period last for weeks on end?

This is a little bit of an uncomfortable question for me to ask but I`m going to ask anyways. In November of 2010 I had my daughter. While in the hospital the nurse gave me a Depo-Provera shot. All seemed well and I stopped bleeding in around a month. Then all of the sudden I started to bleed heavily again 3 weeks later. It lasted 3 additional weeks. Well my body is still not back to normal. I have 5 children and after each child everything returned to normal within months. But, not this time! I have always had a regular 28 day cycle. Now I`m bleeding for more than 2 weeks. This last time I got my period it started out very slow, like spotting then it came full force with huge blood clots. So big and so heavy that I soaked threw my pants & had to throw them out. When it stopped I was happy to say the least. Four days later I started to bleed again and it hasn`t stopped. It`s not a heavy flow but enough that I do have to wear a pad. It`s been almost 3 weeks and I`m very frustrated! Let me also add that I had the essure procedure in January and I had my confirmation test on Monday June 20th. I wonder if that has something to do with it. It`s so hot out and I`m so uncomfortable wearing a pad all the time. I just want this to end! I`ve been reading blogs about the side effects from the depro shot and I`m sad to say I think I may be one of the women that`s have the bad side effects but it`s been 8 months now. Has this happened to anyone else? I`ve given it 8 months and in my mind I`m thinking this is normal but obviously it`s not so I do plan to set up an appointment with my doctor but that`s going to take a week or so. Any advice or has anyone else gone through this. I`m at my wits end as to what`s wrong with me.

Bulging hand vein.. Please answer?

My left hand has this one vein tht will bulge more than all the others. It looks worse than my right hand veins! And its not even the whole vein it kinda bulges more in the middle then thins out almost like theres a lump from appearance but there is not bc it is soft.... This all started after the nurse tried to get an IV in tht vein when i was in labor.... Ever since ive noticed this vein get lots bigger than usual... Lymph Node that changes in size?

I have a lymph node that has been "acting up" for nearly a year. It started with an ear infection last August to be exact. Ever since it swells off and on. When it's really swollen it hurts and usually coincides with ear ache, sore throat and sometimes general sinus symptoms. I am just wondering if this is a sign of lymphoma? I would assume that with cancer it would probably remain enlarged all the time or continue to get bigger. I've also read that lymphomas usually involve more than one lymph node. Any help or insight is greatly appreciated.

Calling all teens and wise for help!...Should I let my 14 year old daughter go or ask that she come with me?

My 14 year old daughter worked very hard all year and got fantastic grades despite her medical problems. The end of this week she wanted to celebrate in a sleep over with her girlfriends. I said Cool!, then...I learned that Saturday they all plan to see a ban of hot guys play in T.O. That's the same day as my own graduation from University. If the creek is contaminated what about the drinking wells?

I live near a creek that is contaminated with basically animal poop (coliform). No one swims in it. I just moved to place where our well is nearby. Also, the water contains a lot of sulfur. We either boil it or let it aerate to make it drinkable. My question is, do the bacteria make it down to the well water? If we let it aerate for a couple of day do the bacteria multiply making it worse? I would normally buy water or a filter, but as it is, I'm temporarily poor, poor, poor and hauling water is a hassle on the bus. Should I give up my organic veggies in lieu of a filter or does it matter? Thanks for your help. I'm thirsty and uneducated on the matter. Also, can't find any relevant info with state water quality standards...just notes on the public water system, not wells.

What is this Weird Saltwater Fish I cought?!?!?

In a creek in Gautier Mississippi I threw my cast net and this fish i caught was swimming around with the shad. He is no bigger than a shad and is the shape of an oval going up and down . He has one yellow eye on each side and has some brown spots on one side along with silver, but completely silver on the other, leading me to believe he lays on the bottom but I dont know. on the bottom and top there are LONG fin like things extending, and they are clumped so the look like a string of hair. He also has a standard tail fin shaped like a sideways V. and on the the bottom and top leading up to the hair like fins are standard fins covering from the tail to the hair fins. His mouth is lower down, not in the middle like most fish, so imaging an eye in the normal place for a fish, and than a slope outwards until we reach his mouth near the bottom, his gills come from right below his mouth, to above his eye. Hi everyone :) I was just wondering if a mallard mother duck and her son (baby or adult boy duck) would mate? And about how old would they be if they did? Because I have a mallard nest in my backyard (i live not too far from of a creek). I was very lucky now to be able to watch them hatch! If you think you have a low milk supply try pumping ... maybe that will help you to produce more milk and your baby will have less frustration when trying to feed. Also u didn't mentioned the age of your baby, but it could also be nipple confusion. If she is easily getting more formula from a bottle she will most likely want to eat that way. I guess the best advice I could give besides pumping to increase supply, other than contacting a local lactation consultant. Best of luck to you and your little one :)

I have this so-called "friend" that I thought was my friend. She's 39 and I'm 34. I told her that when I first wanted to join it, she was the one that put me down for it, but now she wants it too! Her GPA is about 3.1 until now, and mine is 4.0. So she likes to compete with me. Should I be freaking out that my pupils are two different sizes?

I went to the emergency room last week and one of the nurses said that my pupils were two different sizes ...which they never had been before. I went there because I'd been having a lot of headaches and stuff (I also have severe anxiety). They did a CT scan and said that there was nothing emergent and that everything looked great with the scan and my blood work. I noticed again this morning that they were uneven, and it's just kind of freaking me out. I understand that doctors know what they're doing, but would a CT scan read something like an aneurysm and stuff? I need to go see my primary care doctor but I can't get in for a couple weeks. I've also had eye exams in the past and wear glasses, so I feel like if this didn't happen recently, my optometrist would have noticed. Does anyone know anything more about this?

Questions about College?

I have a few questions about going to college.. I will be a Junior in High School in the upcoming school year, & I have a 3.5 GPA (Might not be important, but just so everyone knows I can get into the college).. However, I have been wondering if I should take 2 years of Houston Community College before I go on to a University because it would save me a lot of money. If I do so, is it possible for me to transfer to LSU from HCC? Also, If that is possible then would I still have 4 years at a LSU? (Obvously i'm hoping not, i'm trying to get years out of the way). Or does taking core classes at a Community College count the same as taking them at a University? Sorry if it all doesn't make sense.. What does the 'A' stand for if a nurse writes PERRLA +C on an assessment?

If you are doing private care without going through an actual establishment then it would be up to the family whether they want to hire you without a license. Companies that provide in home care, or any care for that matter, would not hire you without a license becaue, whether it is a skilled facility or not, you are a liability. If you are hired through the family to go into an establihment as a private sitter or caretaker for someone then the facility cant do anything about it because it was decided through the family. So it depends on the route you go. If you need your license you can always challenge the test or take a refresher course and take the test to get certified. If you are trying to actually be hired anywhere this is what you will have to do.

almost hive looking, she was on nursed, switched at 6 months to Enfamil Premium and did well. Her father was allergic to milk until he was 2. Knowing this I started the toddler formula with more milk protein. she broke out in the rash at that point then slowly with food with milk in it. I put her on Silk the last 2-3 weeks and that is when the rash spread over night. I told her Dr. we feel she is allergic to milk and she didn't have a concern. I am at my boiling point because we don't know what to try next. seems like there are so many different types of milk to be allergic to, such as milk protein, milk & soy, lactose free. and we have tried several things, someone please help!! thanks so much

I was in your position about a year ago when my husband and I first started TTC, I have since learned alot about this topic. First of all not everyone ovulates on day 14 of their cycle, as a matter of face most people dont, That is just an average number that most women ovulate around considering you have a "normal" 28 day cycle, Being that you just got off bc you wont know what your "normal" is yet. I was like clockwork while on bc and my first cycle off of it I still had a 28 day cycle. Most doctors recommend waiting a full cycle to let your body adjust to its new norm and get the bc out of your system, Once you have a normal cycle you can better tell when you will ovulate. if you still have a 28 day cycle then yes you will more than likely ovulate AROUND day 14 not necessarily on day 14. My periods have since gotten to 35-40 days long which means i dont ovulate until around day 20-25. Like I said everyone is different, Some people will have some cramping with ovulation and maybe some spotting as well but again everyone is different. The best way to predict ovulation is with an OPK (ovulation predictor kit). And to know for sure when and if you ovulated you can start a BBT chart. Hope this helps a little! Good luck

Why did the bird die?

Okay yesterday me and my brother were in the living room and we heard a screaming noise. We both ran outside, cause we have three cats that roam around and catch birds. Well we didn't see anything; came in, and noticed that one of our cats had a house sparrow in her mouth. We got the bird away from our cat and nursed in for the night. Me and my sister took care of the bird the next day and we noticed that the bird had a puncture wound. We thought that it would just heal and be able to fly soon. But for the two days so far we had the bird. My sister, mom, and dad would pick her up. Earlier today, my dad asked me if I ever held her, and I said no. So he held out his hands and gave her to me; the first time I held her. I wasn't holding her wrong at all; a couple seconds later she puts her head down and dies. I only held her for about 5 seconds and she died. My question is why didn't she die in my dad's hands or anyone else?

Harms of Setting a normally wild animal free?

I have a bunny that bites me and will not let me be held. If i set it free to this friends house with like 30 other rabbits it would have plenty of room to run around and have "fun" if you catch my drift with the other bunnies. 1 month old and a Cold...what can I do for her?

I have a one month old and she has a terrible cold. She can barely breath out of her nose and her chest seems congested too, plus a cough. She seems miserable and is having a hard time nursing and sleeping. Any ideas? I called her Dr and she said I didn't need to bring her in, that it just sounded like a cold and to use nasal saline and a bulb syringe and to elevate her bed. Any other ideas? I don't know what to do with my mom.?

I am 20 years old and I live with my mom, her husband and my 3 younger sisters. I've known for a long time that my mother was mentally unstable and over the past few months, it's been getting worse to the point where I don't know what to do. She is "right" no matter what and refuses to listen to us. Her husband is the scum of the earth and I always ask why is he still her. He treats her badly and has done things that any person would hate him for. He's been with her for about 4 years and my sisters and I hate him so much. Ever since they got together, he has done nothing but use her and manipulate her but she doesn't see that. Yesterday she blew up about my boyfriend who I have been with for 3 and a half years and is telling me I can't see him and that if he comes over, she'll call the cops :( Ever since I can remember, I've been helping raise my younger sisters and I'm scared for them. Yes, she provides a roof and works to take care of us but that doesn't mean she can throw temper tantrums and call us horrible things for no reason.
